Danny Duffy held the Cardinals to just one hit while striking out five over six scoreless innings in a 6-0 victory Monday.
Matt Holliday singled with two out in the first inning and he walked with one out in the fourth, but that's all the Cards could muster against the tough left-hander. Duffy had thrown just 85 pitches through six, but Royals manager Ned Yost elected to pinch-hit for him in the seventh as the club tried to tack on more runs. The southpaw has allowed one or fewer runs in four of his six starts. He'll get the Yankees this weekend.
