Dan Connolly of the Baltimore Sun reports that the Rays have signed Luke Scott to a one-year deal with a club option for 2013, pending a physical. Exact terms aren't yet available. Scott was non-tendered by the Orioles last month after batting just .220/.301/.402 with nine home runs and 22 RBI across 236 plate appearances in 2011. The 33-year-old is working his way back from surgery to repair a torn labrum in his right shoulder, but he has a chance to be an excellent bounceback candidate.
