Hernandez slashed .289/.386/.474 with two home runs in 88 plate appearances for Triple-A Round Rock this season, but after he wasn't promoted to the big club after the first month of the campaign, the Rangers granted him his release from his minor-league deal. The 29-year-old utility player will look to catch on elsewhere on a minor-league pact.
