The Reds released Kemp on Friday, Charlie Goldsmith of The Cincinnati Enquirer reports.

Kemp signed a minor-league deal with the Reds in July, but he'll now have to search for another opportunity after slashing .237/.338/.364 with 17 RBI across 139 plate appearances with the Bats. The 32-year-old has been able to put up solid numbers overall in Triple-A this season (.773 OPS), so he should have little trouble latching on with another team as organizational depth.
