The 35-year-old was pushed off Chicago's 40-man roster when the team activated Miguel Amaya (ankle) and Javier Assad on Tuesday. Berti will now be forced to look elsewhere for his next opportunity, and he'll likely have to settle for a minor-league deal after slashing .210/.262/.230 through 107 plate appearances with the Cubs this season.
