Cubs signed C Jason Jaramillo to a minor league contract. Jaramillo was non-tendered by the Pirates earlier this offseason. His deal with the Cubs includes an invitation to spring training, where the 29-year-old will get a shot at securing the backup job behind Geovany Soto.
