Cubs signed 1B/OF Lars Anderson to a minor league contract. Anderson spent the first couple months of last season at Triple-A with the White Sox, hitting an embarrassing .194/.302/.251 through 266 plate appearances before being released. He's still just 26, but the former top prospect has simply never progressed as hoped.
