The Chicago Cubs optioned right-hander Javier Assad to Triple-A Iowa on Friday and recalled right-hander Jeremiah Estrada from Iowa in a corresponding move. Assad was an emergency call-up as a spot starter against the Los Angeles Dodgers on Thursday night after Jameson Taillon (groin) landed on the injured list.
