Cubs manager Dale Sveum hasn't given up on the idea of Carlos Marmol returning as the closer. Marmol has delivered four straight scoreless appearances since being removed from the closer role, which has Sveum thinking about giving him another chance. "I would be lying to you if he wasn't working his way back into it," said Sveum. "He is throwing strikes and he is throwing his slider more and he's more consistent. So, yeah, he's working his way back. That was part of the deal." Sveum is relying on a committee approach with Kyuji Fujikawa (forearm) sidelined, but Shawn Camp blew a save Sunday and James Russell is primarily a matchup play. Marmol is worth a speculative add if you're desperate for saves, but there's no reason to think that he'll suddenly turn things around.

If he's doing well, leave him the hell alone. Some people just aren't cut out for 9th inning duties.
