Cubs GM Jed Hoyer reiterated Saturday that slumping second baseman Darwin Barney is in no danger of being demoted to Triple-A. Hoyer said that Barney has earned "a lot of" playing time, and that the organization will have "quite a bit" of patience with him. He's been absolutely dreadful at the plate thus far, hitting .149/.276/.257 with one homer and three RBI through his first 22 games. He shouldn't be started in even the deepest fantasy leagues.
