Cubs activated C Steve Clevenger from the 15-day disabled list. Clevenger was cleared to return after 6-for-13 (.462) with a homer and three RBI over five rehab games with Triple-A Iowa. He was hitting .500 (11-for-22) with five doubles and two RBI prior to landing on the DL late last month with an oblique strain. He could be a smart play in NL-only leagues while Geovany Soto and Welington Castillo are sidelined.
