Crisp (elbow) may resume taking batting practice by the end of the week, Joe Stiglich of CSN California reports. Initially expected to miss 6-to-8 weeks after undergoing surgery on his elbow in early April, Crisp seems to be healing faster than the Athletics anticipated. The club still plans on having the outfielder head out on a rehab assignment in the minors once he draws closer to full health, but it's not expected to last more than a couple games. It's conceivable that he could be formally activated from the DL by the middle of May, if not sooner.
