Craig Kimbrel blew his first save since June 8 on Friday, allowing two runs on two hits and two walks in the ninth inning of Atlanta's 10-inning loss in St. Louis. Kimbrel loaded the bases for Albert Pujols, who promptly roped a two-run single down the right-field line. The rookie right-hander had not allowed a run in a staggering 35 2/3 innings over his past 38 appearances going back to June 11. It would be a crime if anyone else took home the National League's Rookie of the Year award.
