Manager Don Mattingly said Tuesday that Chisolm (shoulder) could skip a rehab assignment and opt to just participate in live batting practice in order to prepare to be activated from the 10-day injured list, Christina De Nicola of MLB.com reports.

It was reported last week that Chisholm was nearing a rehab assignment, but it sounds like a few sessions facing live pitching might be enough to get the infielder ready for activation from the IL. Mattingly said the team is "hopeful" Chisholm will be reinstated when he first becomes eligible Friday.
