Corbin (13-12) was the pitcher of record in the Diamondbacks' 10-6 loss to the Padres on Friday, serving up eight runs on 11 hits and three walks in 4.1 innings.
EDGE Analysis
Corbin came up short as the Diamondbacks' franchise-record 13-game winning streak came to a close, a surprisingly development given the quality of opponent and how well he and pitched of late. The lefty entered Friday with a 5-0 record, 0.50 ERA and 0.79 WHIP over his previous five starts and looked well on his way to another strong outing after keeping the Padres off the board through three innings, but he completely unraveled in the fourth, allowing seven consecutive batters to reach base at one point before recording the final out of the frame. Corbin's solid body of work on the whole of late shouldn't completely result in fantasy owners losing faith in him, though he'll draw a more difficult matchup in his next scheduled turn Sept. 13 against the Rockies.
