Swaggerty (shoulder) had his contract selected by the Pirates on Friday.

Swaggerty underwent season-ending shoulder surgery in early June after he hit .220 in 12 appearances at Triple-A Indianapolis to begin the year. It wouldn't be surprising to see him available for spring training in 2022, and he'll now be protected from the Rule 5 draft.
