Crawford's contract was selected by the Red Sox on Friday, Christopher Smith of The Springfield Republican reports.

He recorded a 4.28 ERA and 1.08 WHIP in 94.2 innings across 20 appearances (19 starts) at Double-A Portland and Triple-A Worcester, and his addition to the 40-man roster will shield him from the Rule 5 draft.
