Conley's (finger) scheduled start for Sunday against the Braves was pushed back after the game was cancelled following the tragic death of teammate Jose Fernandez.
EDGE Analysis
Fernandez, 24, was one of three people pronounced dead Sunday morning after a boat crash off of Miami Beach. One of the game's most magnetic stars and transcendent talents, Fernandez is a devastating loss for the organization and the sport as a whole, so Major League Baseball wisely decided to give the Marlins some time to grieve his loss. Conley, who was scheduled to come off the DL and start Sunday for the first time since Aug. 13, is now in line to take the hill Monday against the Mets, a start that was originally reserved for Fernandez.
