Conley (6-5) allowed two runs on four hits, struck out seven and walked one in a victory over the Reds on Saturday.
EDGE Analysis
He struck out six of the first 14 batters he faced in the game, yet still trailed by a run until Miami re-took the lead for good in the sixth. Conley had only thrown 87 pitches when Marlins manager Don Mattingly relieved him from the game, but Mattingly probably didn't want him to face Adam Duvall, who had already homered, again. Conley throwing under 95 pitches in a start isn't all that unusual anyway. In addition to the 6-5 record, he has a 3.62 ERA, 1.30 WHIP and 94 strikeouts in 99.1 innings.
