Conley (1-0) held the Mets to a single run on a solo homer -- their only hit off him -- in Saturday's 8-1 win. He struck out six and walked three.
EDGE Analysis
Manager Don Mattingly lifted him for a pinch hitter with 85 pitches on his ledger, so Conley didn't pick up a quality start or post outstanding counting stats, but owners will happily take Saturday's ERA and WHIP contributions. The 26-year-old lefty has posted sub-4.00 ERAs in his first two MLB seasons, but endurance has not been his strong suit; he averaged only about 5.1 innings per start last year. His ability to pitch deeper into games will ultimately determine Conley's value in fantasy, and his next chance to last longer will come Friday against this very same Mets club.
