Conley (0-1) allowed four runs on eight hits and a walk over 6.2 innings Tuesday in a loss to the Nationals. He struck out eight.
EDGE Analysis
Conley was brilliant early on, as he shut out the Nationals through the first six innings, but it all fell apart in the seventh, as he allowed a pair of solo home runs to Jayson Werth and Wilson Ramos and left two runners on base for the Miami bullpen, which promptly let the Nationals blow the game open on a Bryce Harper home run. There was a lot to like from Conley, who induced 14 swinging strikes and threw 64 strikes in his 95 pitches before he was lifted. He has 19 strikeouts in 13.2 innings this season and was working on 12 straight shutout innings dating back to his last start against the Mets before the Nationals got him in the seventh inning.
