Conforto saw his first action in center field Saturday against the Marlins, the NY Daily News reports.
EDGE Analysis
Conforto didn't start the game in center field due to the expected low-scoring, pitchers' duel between Jacob deGrom-Jose Fernandez. But deGrom didn't have his good stuff and was pulled in the fourth inning. Conforto pinch-hit in the sixth and then came in the game in center field. Juan Lagares is the best defensive center fielder on the team, but he continues to struggle against righties, batting .230 with 11 strikeouts and six walks in 72 plate appearances. With the Mets desperate for offense and Yoenis Cespedes to only handle left field due to his quad injury, look for Conforto to man center field before too much longer.
