After placing both Shelby Miller (finger) and Rubby De La Rosa (elbow) on the DL, the Diamondbacks were in dire need of pitching help. Although Collmenter is likely not ready to pitch in long relief yet (he only threw 20 pitches in his last rehab appearance), he could move into a more expanded role once he builds up more strength in his shoulder.
