Collmenter tossed two scoreless innings of relief and picked up his first save of the season in Game 2 of Tuesday's doubleheader against the Rockies.
EDGE Analysis
With closer Brad Ziegler unavailable after giving up seven runs over a total of 2.1 innings the previous two days, manager Chip Hale turned to two different pitchers in save situations Tuesday. After Dan Hudson closed things out in Game 1, Collmenter, who typically works as Arizona's long man, limited the Rockies to a base hit and a double over his two frames to claim the save. The hiccups in his recent appearances aside, Ziegler has been excellent in the closing role this season, so don't expect Collmenter to put much pressure on him for those duties.
