Cole (11-9) took the loss against the Reds on Friday, coughing up five runs on six hits and three walks over six innings while striking out six.
EDGE Analysis
The Reds jumped on him for three runs in the first inning, getting a measure of revenge against Cole after he stiffed them over seven scoreless innings back in Cincinnati on Aug. 26. The right-hander has now given up at least three runs in five of his last six starts, saddling him with a 4.58 ERA over that stretch despite a 40:10 K:BB in 39.1 innings. He'll look for a better result in his next outing Wednesday at home against the Cubs.
