Schwarber (hamstring/groin) could rejoin the Red Sox as early as Friday, Jason Mastrodonato of the Boston Herald reports.

Schwarber will begin a rehab assignment at Triple-A Worcester on Thursday, and manager Alex Cora sounded as though the 28-year-old could be available during Boston's weekend series against the Orioles. The Red Sox are hopeful that Schwarber will be able to play first base at some point, but the team may use him as a designated hitter early on after he's activated.
