Clippard threw a perfect ninth inning with two strikeouts on Tuesday night to earn his eighth save. After struggling badly for save opportunities through most of the first two months of the season, Clippard now has four saves in the last six days. Clippard lowered his ERA to 2.31 and with Sean Doolittle back on the DL with shoulder issues, he should remain the A's closer for the foreseeable future. Although a small sample of only 23.1 innings, the one concern on Clippard so far this year is his 5.0 BB/9, nearly double his 2014 walk rate.
