Clippard recorded his third save on Tuesday night, recording five outs in a one-run game against the Twins. Clippard earned this save, entering the game with a one run lead and men on first and third with one out. He allowed no runners in his 1.2 innings and struck out two. Clippard has only had four save opportunities through the first month with the A's and has converted three of them. He will remain the closer for the A's until Sean Doolittle returns from injury, but it is not yet known if the A's will put Doolittle in the closer role immediately upon his return.
