Clippard navigated around a hit and a walk in a scoreless ninth inning on Sunday against the Yankees to earn his seventh save of the season. The 30-year-old hasn't seen many save opportunities this season because of Oakland's terrible start, but he has done a nice job filling in for the injured Sean Doolittle and is now 6-for-7 in save situations. Doolittle will be out for at least two more weeks after re-injuring himself Wednesday, so Clippard should continue to serve as the team's closer.
