The San Diego Padres placed starting pitcher Clayton Richard (knee) on the 10-day disabled list on Tuesday with left knee inflammation. The move is retroactive to Aug. 25. Second base prospect Luis Urias was also called up from Triple-A El Paso, with infielder Carlos Asuaje being sent down to El Paso.
