Locastro (knee) was claimed off waivers by the Red Sox on Friday, Robert Murray of FanSided.com reports.

Locastro hit just .180/.263/.252 in 156 plate appearances for the Diamondbacks and Yankees before tearing his ACL in mid-July. He owned a far better .256/.365/.365 line in 347 career trips to the plate prior to this season, however, so he could carve out a role on the Red Sox's bench if he proves his health in spring training.
