Cingrani gave up two runs Monday against the Cubs, allowing a hit, a walk and a HBP while retiring two hitters in getting the loss.
EDGE Analysis
Even though he didn't allow the big hit that actually put the Cubs ahead (a three-run homer by Addison Russell that came against Jumbo Diaz), Cingrani earned that loss nonetheless. The hit he allowed came with two outs in the seventh, a two-run single by Jason Heyward that allowed two runners inherited from Brandon Finnegan to score. And his wildness in the eighth inning set the table for Diaz.
