Cingrani could be in the running for saves, now that manager Bryan Price said Tuesday he will sleep on whether or not stick with J.J. Hoover as the team's closer, according to the Cincinnati Enquirer's C. Trent Rosecrans.
EDGE Analysis
Hoover has been awful this season, but It's a complicated situation. Cingrani leads the team with four holds, but is also the lone lefty in the bullpen, and has five walks in 5.2 innings. Still, this is not a typical bullpen in terms of talent, so drastic measures may need to be taken. For those in desperate need of saves, Cingrani could be worth a flyer in advance of some clarification from Price on the closer job Wednesday.
