Chris Owings (shoulder) will be shut down for three days after a visit with the Diamondbacks' team doctor on Friday. Owings' bruised left shoulder is getting better but has come along more slowly than expected. "We're just trying to get him kind of over the hump," manager Kirk Gibson said. "He's getting close." Owings is likely to remain out for the remainder of this month.
