Colorado Rockies second baseman/outfielder Chris Owings (thumb) has been placed on the 10-day injured list with a left thumb sprain. Owings had been dealing with hamstring tightness earlier this week, causing him to sit two straight games, but this is a new injury. The team called up infielder Alan Trejo in a corresponding move.
