Chris Cotillo of MLB Daily Dish reports that Carl Pavano had continued to throw, building up arm strength for his potential comeback attempt. Cotillo notes that Pavano could host a showcase for interested teams at some point this winter. The 37-year-old right-hander made 11 mostly ineffective starts for the Twins in 2012, posting a 6.00 ERA, 1.40 WHIP and 33/8 K/BB ratio in 63 innings, then missed the entire 2013 season after suffering a ruptured spleen. He'll have to settle for a minor league deal, but could be worth a look for pitching-starved teams as a low-risk option.
