Chris Carpenter is showing greater flexibility with his right shoulder and could be ready to begin a throwing program sometime in the next four weeks. Cardinals general manager John Mozeliak said back on May 12 that Carp could start a throwing program in mid-June, which is now about three weeks away. Recent reports on the veteran righty have all been positive, but his comeback from nerve issues in his shoulder has been a slow process. He shouldn't be counted on before the All-Star break.
