Chen is suffering from a sprained left elbow and will go on the 15-day disabled list retroactive to July 21, Clark Spencer of the Miami Herald reports.

The team will recall Jarred Cosart to start Monday's game in Chen's place, but the team certainly hopes the issue won't cost him too long or develop into something worse. The earliest the southpaw can return comes August 6, but the team should establish a firmer timetable as Chen begins the rehab process.
