Chen (elbow) was reinstated from the 10-day disabled list Monday, Joe Frisaro of MLB.com reports.

Chen will rejoin the big club for the first time since early May after a partially torn UCL derailed his season. The lefty was able to get in three rehab appearances in the minors over the past two weeks prior to his activation, but because he never tossed more than two innings in any of those outings, the Marlins won't turn to him as a rotation option. Instead, Chen is expected to work out of the bullpen the rest of the season, likely taking on low-leverage duties initially before perhaps working his way up the depth chart.
