Chase Whitley struggled in a losing effort against the Orioles on Sunday, surrendering three runs on five hits over his 3 2/3 innings of work. Whitley struck out four and walked two on the evening. He cruised through the first three innings virtually unscathed, but ran into a buzzsaw in the fourth inning, highlighted by a two-run homer off the bat of Chris Davis. Whitley now sports a troublesome 5.10 ERA, 1.48 WHIP and 40/12 K/BB ratio on the season, and could be on his way out of the Yankees rotation as soon as they find an alternative option.
