Chase Headley was removed from Wednesday's game against the Pirates after getting hit by a 95 mph fastball in the bottom of the first inning. There was no update from the Padres after the game, which is probably good news. Consider the third baseman day-to-day for now. Alexi Amarista came on to man the hot corner and could start there on Thursday.
