Chase Headley requested $10.3 million and was offered $7.075 million from the Padres when arbitration figures were exchanged Friday. That's a pretty big gulf between the two sides, so it will be interesting to see whether they can get something done before a hearing. Headley earned $3.475 million last season, but he's seeking a big raise after finishing fifth in the NL MVP balloting and winning the NL Gold Glove Award at third base.
