According to Erik Boland of Newsday, Cessa is an option to make a spot start over the weekend in place of the injured C.C. Sabathia, who is on the disabled list with a hamstring strain. Cessa has enjoyed moderate success down at Triple-A Scranton/Wilkes-Barre this season with a 4.15 ERA and 47 strikeouts over 65.0 innings. Look for further confirmation regarding his potential start later in the week, but in any case, it's unclear whether Cessa would stick in the rotation beyond this weekend.
