CBSSports.com's Jon Heyman reports that the Reds and Jonathan Broxton have come to terms on a multiyear deal.
The contract, which will be announced Wednesday, is expected to take Broxton through at least 2015. One imagines he'll get Brandon League money -- $7.5 million per year -- making this a risky deal. Broxton's stuff isn't what it once was, and he struck out just seven batters per nine innings last year after ranging from 10.5 to 13.5 in his first five years in the league. The Reds will certainly be downgrading in the closer's role if they in fact move Aroldis Chapman to the rotation, though it may pay off in the end.
