CBS Sports' Jon Heyman reports that the Rockies asked for Kevin Gausman in exchange for Jorge De La Rosa. It was worth a shot, but the O's weren't going to bite on that ridiculous request. Gausman has tremendous upside and at least five more years of cost control. De La Rosa, meanwhile, is set to become a free agent this winter. Baltimore is seeking pitching upgrades with the July 31 trade deadline approaching, but it's been a seller-friendly market so far and the club is reluctant to part with any top prospects.
