CBS Sports' Jon Heyman reports that the Athletics "could emerge as a player" for Jake Peavy. The A's rotation is pretty well-stocked, and they should get Brett Anderson (foot) back sometime next month. Still, that hasn't stopped general manager Billy Beane from pursuing an upgrade, as he also got involved in talks for Matt Garza at the last minute. The Red Sox and Cardinals have also been connected to Peavy.
