CBS Sports' Jon Heyman reports that Mike Trout and the Angels are continuing to discuss a six-year extension and the sides are "maintaining a clear sense of optimism that something will eventually get done."
Yahoo! Sports' Jeff Passan first reported last month that the two sides were discussing a six-year deal in the $150 million range, and Heyman says those are still the parameters. A six-year deal would buy out Trout's first three years of free agency but still allow the outfielder to hit free agency again at the age of 29.
