CBS Sports' Jon Heyman reports that Chase Headley was claimed off revocable waivers and pulled back by the Padres. The identity of the claiming team isn't known, but since the Padres pulled him back, he can't be traded before the end of the season. The Padres are expected to discuss an extension with Headley this winter, though it's possible he could be on the trade block if no progress is made. The 29-year-old made $8.575 million through arbitration this season and is under team control through 2014.
