CBS Sports' Danny Knobler reports that Wandy Rodriguez is expected to be placed on waivers this week and that there's a "growing belief" he could be claimed. We assumed the Astros would place him on waivers, and it wouldn't be that surprising if someone claims him, though that doesn't necessarily mean he'll be dealt. Houston, though, seems desperate to continue to slash their payroll, so they might be willing to accept very little in return for the lefty as long as the interested team is willing to pick up all or most of Rodriguez's remaining contract, which will be at least $30 million over the next three years. The Yankees, Blue Jays and Indians all had interest in Wandy before the trade deadline.
