Carrasco gave up four runs on 10 hits while striking out seven in 6.2 innings Tuesday against the Cardinals. His strategy of pounding the strike zone that offered excellent results last season seems to have caught up to him a little to start 2015. Of his 104 pitches Tuesday 73 of them were strikes, and the fact that the Cardinals had 10 hits suggests that they were up there hacking. Strikeouts have not been an issue for Carrasco and his FIP and xFIP both suggest he has been better than his 4.84 ERA indicates. Still, he may need to make an adjustment or two to combat the fact that opposing hitters seem to be displaying more aggression in at-bats against him than they did in 2014.
